If you have a Leak off test done then it would eliminate the injectors, its an easy test and takes about 20 minutes, if your mate has decent diagnostic equipment and knows how to use it then ask him to watch the Ecu voltage while hot cranking, if it drops dramatically then it would provethanks for the fast reply .. that's correct it will start up on Easy start but I hesitate in using that stuff not to sure of it. so im going to attempt the SCV. its a brand new engine so cant be compression issues as this runs and drives perfectly fine once its able to i.e by easy start or intermittently say every 24 hour attempt. This normally indicates a problem with the 'immobiliser', which, as Fred says is a 'virtual' system comprising of UEC, REC, IPC, CIM, and ECM - which check each other for the correct data before allowing the engine to start. The switch power for the fuel pump relay and the energised earth supply for the ECM relay both come from the ECM itself
I have a 2005 MK5 Vauxhall Astra Deisel. I have had the car for a couple of years, and this problem started about 6 months after I bought the car. In winter, the car is PERFECT, nothing wrong at all whatsoever. In summer (hot or warm days), the car starts, and runs fine. But when you switch the car off, you have to wait about 45 minutes before
ECU system type: MT35E. MT35E 2.1. MT35E 2.3. The most common fault symptom resulting from failure of this ECU is that the engine will cut out and fail to restart once the engine has reached operating temperature or after prolonged driving. If you have your vehicle diagnosed, then you may also get fault codes stored within the ECU.

With the fuse removed, you should be able to open the boot. Once the boot is open, replace the fuse. The roof ECU can be found under the right-hand side trim, right behind the rear seats, unplug it (2 plugs, one black, one blue). This will stop the beeping and allow the boot to work as normal. G.
