I have tried doing it with the engine at full temp, sufficient ambient temp, AC off, only the ignition on and a couple of other things. Answered by Honest John. Probably because the turbo is too hot and a heat sensor prevents the engine switching off in order to preserve the turbo bearing from damage. Though water cooled, the turbo does get very hot because hauling the Focus body is a lot of work for a 1.0-litre engine. Tags: stop-start technical issues.

Hello all, I've owned my 64 plate 1.0t ecoboost titanium (powershift), now for around 7 weeks. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. New to semi auto's too, but it behaving well, so far. On an intermittent basis, the car sometimes takes a while to fire up. The longest time would be approximately around 5 seconds of solid cranking.

All I have a Ford Focus MK3 1.0 ecoBoost 125hp which no crank and no start first when I turned key it was clicking so I have check starter relay and starter but all fine when I give 12V direct to starter relay starter run. Plastic cover of PCM was broken , I don’t have current on spark plug and ignition coils.
I checked the plugs and they were wet with fuel. So I decided to change the crank position sensor and plug wires, but it still won’t start. I'm going to check the distributor timing today, but it ran fine before the timing belt replacement. Any help with this would be a great help and very appreciated. This GT only has 60,000 original miles
1) The car will not crank when first starting. I get in, depress the clutch, turn the key, and all the accessories turn on but the engine does not crank. Usually I can get it to start by releasing and re-engaging the parking brake, but yesterday it happened twice and took more than a dozen tries on each occasion to start the car.
