The Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EF/EF-S Mounts and Lenses from Vello consists of 12mm, 20mm, and 36mm tubes with durable metal lens mounts. The extension tubes reduce the minimum focusing distance on your lens and enable you to capture the fine details of an insect or the inside of a flower. These certainly are not in the same calibre as Canon's extension tubes for the regular EF mount - as the metal seems to be brushed aluminum and they are fairly light in the build quality. I wouldn't trust it to hang a 100-400 off of. Trying it with the M and the 10,16 or the stacked full 47mm tubes with the 18-55mm looked a little comical. The 80.5mm f/1.9 MKII Art Lens with Bokeh Control was in development at Lomography for about seven years and is finally available for Nikon F and Canon EF mounts. What I did do is use two extension tubes with the RF 100mm and got over 2x magnificaiton (~2.3x if I recall correctly). I don't have a feel about how far away you can be with extension tubes and be at 1:1. And, if using an extension tube with an EF lens, is it best to do body to adapter to EF extension tube to lens?

The function of the camera and lens is unchanged, and you can combine extension tubes for greater magnification. Canon offers two extension tubes, the EF 12 II and the EF 25 II. Magnification differs by lens, but with the EF12 II and standard zoom lenses, it is approximately 0.3 to 0.5. With the EF 25 II, magnification is 0.7.

Essentially— yes— EF flange distance is 44mm and RF is 20mm. So to adapt an EF lens you just need to hook up the electronics and add 24mm of back spacing from the lens to the sensor. The rf50 1.8 is superior to the EF version imho. I wouldn't want that old lens adapted to the R6 is there is a choice.
The EF25 Extension tube should work with any Canon EF lens just as well as the EF25 II. The only real difference is that the EF25 II can also be mounted with EF-S lenses. Keep in mind that you will not be able to focus at infinity and will only be able to focus at close distances. Canon extension tubes - EOS Magazine

The Kenko AF Extension Tube Set for Canon RF comes with 2 tubes; a 10mm and 16mm which can be used separately or combined for increased close focus capabilities with longer focal length lenses. They are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance.
By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus. Opteka's 25mm Auto Focus extension tube is designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure.

Hi All, With the lockdown, I am thinking of playing around with macro photography. I was thinking of getting a dedicated macro lens like the 100mm f/2.8, but then I saw some youtube videos of people playing with extension tubes. I have a 24-70mm f/2.8 ii and a 70-200mm f/2.8 ii. Both of these le

Key Features. Well-suited for extreme close-up shooting, this Macro Bellows from Fotodiox is designed for Canon EF-mount cameras and lenses. This bellows has an adjustable 1.6-5.9" extension range, and is used to increase a lens's maximum magnification up to 8:1 for macro applications. A rack and pinion gear is used for smoothly adjusting the
Canon do two extension tubes, the EF12 and the EF25. Mine are both in mint condition. The EF12 is close to 12mm, and the EF25 is something like 27mm thick. Both transmit the electrical settings to and from the lens. I tried my EF 50mm F/1.4 USM on the EF12 on my Eos 5D MkII, and it gave me a working distance of around 15cm / 6in. (the AF worked.)
