Transmission change intervals in cars vary from 30,000 to 50,000 miles, 100,000 to 150,000 miles, and so on. Many modern vehicles run up to over 100,000 miles before requiring a change of their transmission fluid. You should find out the interval your vehicle’s manufacturer recommends from the manual and follow the prescription religiously.

I grew up in the era of "3K or 3 months," and while I know that service intervals have been stretched out a lot since then, but I've never seen 10K before.

Not the GT350 supplement guide which is what I was referring to earlier in post 1. According to this document, it states after each road course you should change your transmission oil after each event where you vehicle is subjected to individual on-track sessions exceeding 15 minutes. It states to change your oil and filter after each event.

To change gearbox oil: remove the air filter box to get at the filler plug on top of the gearbox near the selector cables. Remove the splash cover under the engine to see two more plugs on the right hand side near the front axle. The top one is the level and the bottom one is the drain.
